OLIVER WOLCOTT
(1726 - 1797) Signer of the Declaration of Independence, and member of the Continental Congress. He participated in the Revolutionary War as brigadier general and then as major general in the Connecticut militia. War-date D.S. 'O. Wolcott Assistant', 1p. 8vo., Litchfield, January 1776, minutes of a meeting of the Selectmen of Litchfield approving licenses 'to keep Tavern or Houses of Public Entertainment' requested by a number of individuals named in the document. Trimmed at bottom, else very good.
