WILLIAM HOWE
(1729 - 1814) British general who succeeded Gen. Thomas Gage as Commander-in-Chief of the British forces in North America, commanded forces at Bunker Hill, in New York and around Philadelphia, resigned in protest against British lack of support. His black ink franking signature on an integral address leaf, 9.25 x 7.25 in., with wax seal. Toned along creases, foxing near the seal, else very good condition.
