A RUSSIAN OIL SEASCAPE PAINTING BY A HANZEN
An oil on canvas by Aleksei Vasilievich Hanzen 1876-1937. The painting depicts a rocky seashore with several boats. Signed at the bottom left "A. Hanzen." The painting is presented in a vintage wooden gilded frame, the canvas stretched on board. Alexei Vasilievich Hanzen, the grandson of the famous artist Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky, was born in Odessa. The grandfather was his first teacher. Aivazovsky influence on the Hanzen's works was evident - the grandson also became a famous seascape painter.
