AN ANTIQUE RUSSIAN ICON OF SAINT NICHOLAS OF MIRA
A traditional Russian Orthodox early 19th-century icon with the three-quarter depiction of Saint Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra, offering his blessing by his right hand and holding the opened Gospels in his left hand. At the top in the cloudy heavenly segments are the half-length figures of Christ and the Mother of God, presenting the omophorion and the Gospel to the saint Has an indistinctly etched text in Russian at the back. A Collectible Antique Russian Orthodox Hand Painted Icon.
