Aleksandr Yakovlevich Golovin (Russian, 1863-1930) watercolor painting on paper, Circus. Signed with initials lower left. Framed. Provenance: Trinity International Auctions and Appraisals, International Fine Art Auction, October 13, 2018, lot 121. Alexander Golovin, a Russian Soviet artist, set designer, decorator, People's Artist of the Republic, full member of the Academy of Arts. Golovin designed the set of Agamemnon's Palace in Mykonos for Richard Strauss' (1864-1949) one-act opera Elektra based on new archaeological findings by Arthur Jones Evans (1851-1941) in Crete. One of a kind artwork.
