Edward Weston, 1886 to 1958, Cypress, Pebble Beach, California, 1932. Gelatin silver work print made to promote Westons 1987 - 88 exhibition that toured Japan. Work print made in Japan under the official permission of Westons estate to promote his touring photo exhibition in Japan. This was produced by Pacific Press Service, a Tokyo publishing company which also published a catalog for the exhibitions. These exhibition were held at Odakyu Department Store, Tokyo from November 6 - 17, 1987; Keihan Department Store, Osaka, January 15 - 27, 1988. Glossy, RC medium weight gelatin silver print. On the reverse is a caption in both English and Japanese, This photograph was printed from a special master negative used specifically for making prints used for media circulation and publishing in Japan. Printed in 1987. Provenance: A letter size A4 laser color print out of the exhibition poster is included with this sale to support provenance.
