Attributed to Joan Miro, Spanish, Catalan, 1893 to 1983, gouache and wax crayons on old paper painting, dated 1935 on the backside. Depicting a surreal scene. Signed lower right. Framed behind special clear plastic in a black wooden frame. Provenance: Harcourts Gallery, San Francisco, CA. Joan Miro is a Catalan painter, sculptor, and ceramicist. Earning international acclaim, his work has been interpreted as surrealism but with a personal style, sometimes also veering into fauvism and expressionism. He was notable for his interest in the unconscious or the subconscious mind, reflected in his recreation of the childlike. His difficult to classify works also exhibited a manifestation of Catalan pride. European Fine Art and Collectibles.
