WEST AFRICAN NIGERIA IGBO PEOPLE WHITE WOODEN MASK
A West African, hand carved wooden mask of the Igbo people from Nigeria. The mask is painted with white pigment and features narrow eyes, an open mouth with teeth, protruding ears, and a nose. Decorated with hand carved pattern on the forehead and cheeks. The mask is surrounded by a snake with two heads and decorated with a ribbed design. The neck part is decorated with a fabric. The Igbo people, who live mainly in the forested areas of southwestern Nigeria on both sides of the Niger River, number about ten million Igbo people.
