Holy Family
Oil painting on wood dating back to the first quarter of the 16th century and of Genoese origin, depicting the Holy Family.
The work was indicated by Dr. Mia Alsina as a painting executed by a Genoese follower of the Flemish Joos Van Cleve (Kleve, 1485 – Antwerp, 1540), therefore belonging to the sphere of the aforementioned artist.
The dating dates back to around 1520, the date in which Van Cleve was able to settle in Genoa, and it is plausible that his artistic legacy was collected here by a local artist.
Decent conservation conditions.
Work accompanied by the aforementioned study by Dr. Mia Alsina.
