Sergej Larin (Vilnius 1956 - 2008)
Sergei Larin, born March 9, 1956, was one of the greatest opera singers during the era of the Soviet Union to find success outside of his country. He was born in Latvia and attended a vocal training in Lithuania, his operatic debut in 1981 at the Lithuanian Opera and Ballet Theater. From there it became a pillar of Soviet theaters for most of the next decade. But eventually he moved to Slovakia where he made a celebrated debut that opened the doors on its debut at the Vienna State.
