Gaus, Jr. (1947-2022) was a loyal member of the Electric Railroaders Association (ERA). He was a Northeast Philadelphia resident and worker for the legal department of SEPTA until his retirement. He participated in many of the ERA’s European trips and was also an active member of the East Penn Traction Club. This collection of his vintage trains includes: Varney, Trix, Acho, Kleinbahn, Atheann, Piko, Meccano, Ambroid RMA, Hornby Dublo, Roco HO, Pocher, Fleishmann, Liliput, Marklin, Rivarossi, France. This sale also includes other items from Mr. Gaus’ collection: Slides of trains trolleys & railways 1977 - 1978; books & catalogs; vintage railroad, train & trolley postcards; and Philadelphia streetcar memorabilia. Probably American, early 20th century. Plates molded in the form of a water lily, in rich seafoam green glaze. Bowls molded in lotus blossom form. Marked with an impressed M under stylized flower and "Pat. App. For”. Clay body is similar in color to Ada clay. 10 lotus flower bowls and 9 water lily plates.
