"The Purpose of the Jews Revealed: Waging War among the Peoples" Antisemitic poster after the assassination of Herschel Greenspan in the Nazi German diplomat Ernst Fum Rat in Paris. Published by the Nazi Party's main publishing house, c 1939.
An anti-Semitic poster issued by the Nazi Party, supposedly revealing the Jews' desire to wage war between the nations. The poster was circulated after the famous assassination of Herschel Grinshpan by Nazi diplomat Ernst Fum Rat in Paris, some 10 months before the outbreak of World War II, which was the cause of the Kristallnacht riots. The poster details the 'Yellow Book' in which the Jews' crimes are allegedly exposed. On the other side of the poster, in an attempt to raise German national morale, appears a map depicting Western Europe and in particular the territory of England, and a quote from Herman Goering of 9 September 1939 on the weakness of England which has no resources of its own but needs the help of other nations. The exaggerated markings of the sea itself seem to refer to the success of the German ships in the 'large-scale operation' of embalming an enemy submarine from 1917, all to lift German morale.
