Hovat Halevavot by Rabbenu Bachayeh, Tchernowitz 1866 - The personal musar book of Rabbi Moshe Nachum Wallenstein, the Rabbi of the ultra-Orthodox community. on the title page, his owner stamp - Original leather binding.


Rabbi Moshe Nachum Wallenstein (1841–1922], one of the leaders of the old Yishuv, founder of the Badat'z of the ultra-Orthodox community in Jerusalem and its Raba'd. Born in the city of Papa in Hungary and in his youth he studied at the yeshiva of the Ktav sofer in Pressburg and was ordained by him. In 1864 he immigrated to Eretz Yisrael and married the daughter of Rabbi Shimon Deitch, one of the students of the Hatam Sofer, and founder kollel Shomrey HaHomot. one the great disciples of Rabbi Yehoshua Leib Diskin. In 1903 he began to serve as a third judge in the Jerusalem court, and in 1908 he was appointed to Av beit Din. He later retired, because most of the judges supported the rabbinical office affiliated with the Zionist elements in Jerusalem, and established the Badat'z, where he served as rabbi alongside Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld, who served as the community's rabbi. headed the Hungarians of Jerusalem and was the head of Kolel Shomrey HaHomot. Struggles against attempts to change Jewish education that conforms to the view of the Hatam Sofer and the attempts to undermine the independent status of ultra-Orthodox Judaism. Served as director of Kolel Ungrin. Lived in Batey Mahsseh, and lived in deep poverty. After his death, his answers in Halacha were printed  in the book "Bnei Moshe".
