A huge photo album documenting Amram Ben Zvi (son of President Ben Zvi) period of service in the Jewish Brigade. The album contains over 220 photographs of him and his friends in the 462nd Transport Unit during their service in the British Army during World War II. years: 1940-1946.


The album includes group and individual photographs of the unit's soldiers in Egypt, Italy, and Libya in a very wide range of activities. In some of the photographs, Israeli flags, Star of David, and other Jewish symbols can be seen. One of the photographs shows a Hebrew soldier next to a truck driving a sword in a painting of Hitler, many photographs of the unit's soldiers before and after leaving for operational activities, and more. In some of the photographs, dedications in Hebrew to Amram from his friends.


Amram Ben-Zvi enlisted in the British Army in 1940 and served for six years in the 462th Transport Unit as a military driver, along with other volunteers from Eretz Israel. In 1943 he survived a disaster while on the British transport ship "Erinfora", while being bombed by German planes. Hundreds of soldiers, including 140 Jews from Eretz Israel, were killed in the disaster. In parallel with his service in the British army, he assisted as a member of the Haganah in smuggling weapons that were used later in the War of Independence, and in bringing Holocaust refugees to Israel.
