Hermann Fechenbach - Wood cutting - signed and numbered
Hermann Fechenbach (1897-1986), 250th anniversary of the Hevra Kadisha - wood cutting. Signed in the plate, signed in pencil (fully signed Hermann Fechenbach), numbered 26. Hanukkah, December 4, 1926.
On the front is a tombstone inscribed "On three things the world stands on the Torah and on Ha'avoda and on gmilut hasadim" [Hebrew], and in German "The 250th anniversary of the Hevra Kadisha, Shabbat Hanukkah, December 4, 1926". On the right, two Jews representing the Hevra Kadisha and workers planting a tree in the ground, against the background of the rising sun and the letter "ה".
Leaf: 27x21 cm. Woodcut: 17x13 cm. Very good condition.
