Four photographs of views from the ceremony of laying the cornerstone for the Etz Chaim neighborhood that took place in the month of Nissan 1929. In the left photograph below, Rabbi Kook, who honored to laying the stone, Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer (who was among the speakers at the event alongside Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld), HaRishon L'Zion And the first Sephardic rabbi of Israel - Rabbi Yaakov Meir, as well as the director of the Etz Chaim Yeshiva, in whose name the neighborhood was founded, Rabbi Yechiel Michal Tokchinsky, and other rabbis as they entered the compound of the place where the cornerstone was laid. In the photo below on the right can be seen Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer again.


An extensive coverage of the event was published in the "Dar Hayom" newspaper of Friday, Nissan 6 1929 under the heading "Details of the Great Celebration" Extensive coverage of the event was published. It says that more than ten thousand people participated in the celebration, the names of the various speakers and the entire event are mentioned.
