9 Real photo postcards of sights from the Auschwitz death camp. Poland, 1940s. The postcards are described in Polish, Russian and English.
Among them: A panoramic view of the camp barracks made up of three connected postcards [length: 41 cm], prisoners from the Sonderkommando unit whose task was to bring the bodies of the murdered to be cremated, dragging bodies to the crematorium - photographed in secret in July 1944 by one of the prisoners (various hypotheses have been raised over the years regarding the identity of the prisoner who photographed the picture) - this photo is considered the only documentation of Auschwitz camp, showing the unit while collecting bodies for burning while the camp was operating. Shortly afterwards, all the prisoners of the Sonderkommando who dealt with transporting the bodies were murdered by the Nazis in order not to leave any evidence of the horrible industry of death.
Also in the postcards Prisoners going out to forced labor, the camp gate with the inscription 'Arbeit Macht free', the 'wall of death' where prisoners were executed by firing squad, the wooden beds on which the prisoners slept, the crematorium, whips that were used to flog the prisoners, the electric fence that surrounded the camp.
