"What Will Happen to the Jews" – an important publication in light of the waves of Jewish emigration from Germany with the rise of the Nazi Party. London, 1936 - First Edition
What Will Happen to the Jews? - An important publication about the waves of Jewish emigration from Germany with the rise of the Nazi party, the departure of Jews from Germany, and on the other hand the attempts of German Jews to fight for equal rights in Nazi Germany. By Joseph Leftwich, published by P.S. King & Son, London 1936 - First Edition.
An important publication on the "Jewish Question" in Europe with the strengthening of Nazi Germany. The author saw fit to publish his book in light of the large waves of emigration from Germany and persecution of Jews. At the time the book was written there were Jews in Germany struggling for equal rights. The author tries to rouse them from their stupor and argues that the struggle for equal rights in Nazi Germany is doomed from the start, and that they do not understand that in Germany there is effectively the equation of either Germany or the Jews. Given the fact that Jews have suffered throughout the ages, the author identifies the fact that German Jews are also willing to suffer and struggle for their rights, but they do not understand that in Nazi Germany the rules of the game are different, that this suffering will lead to disastrous consequences, and there is no solution for it on German soil. The author argues that the rise of anti-Semitism in Europe is a result of internal economic problems in European countries that found the Jews as a scapegoat for these problems, and argues that only the strengthening of Jewish nationalism and a massive immigration to Eretz Israel have the power to solve the plight of the Jewish people. He examines the economic situation of Eretz Israel in those days and argues that it has improved for the better since the early 20th century and Jews should not fear lack of job opportunities in the country, as Ben Gurion declared at the Zionist Congress that it is possible to absorb and settle one million families in Eretz Israel. As an interim goal, the author proposes Australia or the United States as countries where Jews can settle until Eretz Israel is built and able to absorb the masses.
