Two letters written by a soldier in the Jewish Brigade named Reuven Asher, sent to Eretz Israel from "somewhere", one dated May 10, 1943 and the other dated April 24, 1943.


In his letters, he writes about the various roles he was forced to take on, joking: "Today I was a military policeman (R.P), tomorrow I'll be a general, and the day after who knows - maybe a field marshal or dictator?... He describes the inauguration of the soldiers' club which took part at the time, "The Jewish community opened an Eretz Israel House for the Hebrew soldiers here", He writes about ultra-Orthodox fanatics who beat girls who were supposed to arrive at the club's inauguration, etc. 3 pages. including the original envelope sent with the letter. In his second letter he describes his impatience, never having dreamed he would remain abroad so long.
