"Sunday supplement" issue published in the Buchenwald displaced persons camp after the war - Capture of the Buchenwald camp guard the Nazi criminal Karl Dumbock

SUNDAY SUPPLEMENT NAB BUCHENWALD BUTCHER - The Sunday supplement edition released in the Buchenwald concentration camp after the war, reporting on the capture of the notorious Nazi war criminal Karl Dumbock, who attempted to escape, and more. It is a stencil print with illustrations. [Mid-1940s].

The edition reports on the capture of Karl Dumbock, a Nazi war criminal, guard in Buchenwald and one of Himmler's "henchmen" who murdered thousands of people in Buchenwald. The publication states that when he tried to escape, he disguised himself as a regular soldier but was identified by French and Czech prisoners from the camp who recognized him and pointed him out as the cruelest among the SS guards. The supplement presents testimonies of the prisoners about Dumbock's horrific actions in the camp, the methods he used to torture and kill prisoners and exposes his crimes even before the outbreak of the war. In the second part, the issue reports on A badge of honor given to Captain Albert Budd for his heroic acts against the Nazi enemy, as well as the post-war employment of American soldiers in various fields upon their return to the United States.
