A booklet that accompanied the exhibition “Century of Progress”, first held in Chicago on July 3, 1933, later traveling to New York, with participation of 6000 actors, singers and dancers celebrating 4000 years of Jewish history. All proceeds were donated to aid the settlement of German Jews in Palestine with the rise of the Nazi occupier and the increase in persecution of Jews. Louis Lipsky’s declaration states here: “Continuing the American campaign for German Jewry settlement in Palestine”. The musical pageant depicting highlights of 4000 years of Jewish history was prepared in cooperation with many communal leaders and artists, involving thousands of cast and crew members of “The Romance of the People”. The booklet contains letters of support for the grand project from various figures, an article titled “Palestine: The Land of Promise and Fulfillment”, greeting from President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and a list of hundreds of donors.
