Collection of internal documents, publications, and letters of the National Union organization to save the She'erit HaPletah and realize the Zionist idea

Large collection of internal documents, publications, and letters of the "Ichud" - "National Union" organization for the rescue of She'erit HaPletah and realization of the Zionist idea - official documents of the movement's principles, goals and methods of action. Warsaw, Bucharest, and Eretz Israel. 1945-1946.

The movement set as its goal to unite all Zionist forces for the rescue of She'erit HaPletah, Hebrew Aliyah to Eretz Israel and removal of the British blockade, and to work towards the establishment of a Jewish state in Eretz Israel through joint efforts of all organizations, and it operated in various places in Europe, with efforts concentrated in Poland after the war. Most of the documents before us are from Poland and Hungary.

Among the documents:

• Foundations of the "Ichud" - a typewritten document duplicated by stencil of the principles of the "National Union" - "The Union struggles for the establishment of an independent Jewish state in Eretz Israel based on sacrifice and self-fulfillment... The Union sees the annihilation of the exile, free immigration and redemption of Eretz Israel as a necessary condition for realizing the Zionist idea...". 

• ICHUD - issue of the Democratic Zionist Organization "Ichud" in Poland. Warsaw - Lodz - Krakow, November 1945 - extensive articles on the movement's vision and struggle for Hebrew immigration to Eretz Israel and breaking the British wall that prevents mass immigration of Jews to the land. Polish. 

• Policies printed by stencil of meetings of the "Union" Council held in Warsaw in June 1945 dealing with uniting the forces of She'erit HaPletah in Poland and the struggle to realize the Zionist idea. Yiddish. 

• Handwritten letters from movement members in Warsaw and Bucharest. 

• Protocols printed by typewriter and in handwriting of meetings of the "Ichud" movement in Romania, membership lists in Bucharest and additional documents of the movement's activity in Romania. 

• Pages printed by stencil with names of "Ichud" members in Warsaw. 

• Letters written by Jewish refugees from camps in various places in Europe to the "Ichud" asking for assistance. 

• Statement by the delegation of Zionist Poland in London - a printed typewritten leaf outlining the goals of the "Ichud" movement - "To make Eretz Israel a Jewish state based on democratic and social progressive foundations... giving precedence to general national interests over party and group interests among the nation and in Eretz Israel...". 

• Letter to active members in the exile from members of the "Ichud" movement in Eretz Israel, January 6, 1946. 

• Additional documents dealing with the connection between the movement and activities of the Zionist agency. 

• Additional documents not thoroughly examined by us.
