A magnificent "Zion" appreciation cup presented as a gift to the deputy of the Zionist weekly "Das Yiddishe Folk". Ohio, 1913

A magnificent silver-plated pewter cup presented as an appreciation to Dr. Wolf, one of the directors of the Zionist weekly "Das Yiddishe Folk" ("The Jewish People") in New York, for his faithful service to the newspaper - adorned with a Star of David and a special dedication from the Board of Directors. A unique only one item worldwide.

A large, massive, and impressive cup (with a diameter of 36 cm including handles at the top, height: 27 cm). To the right and left of the handles are designs of oak leaves and flowers. At the center is a Star of David with the inscription "Zion" and an engraved dedication: "Presented to I. I. Wolf by Board of Directors 'Das Yiddishe Folk' for Faithful Services February 2nd 1913." At the base is the manufacturer’s stamp, QUEEN CITY SILVER CO from Ohio.

"Das Yiddishe Folk" was a newspaper published by the Zionist Federation in the United States. It worked to bring American Jews closer to their Jewish identity and Zionism. The newspaper played a crucial role in spreading Zionist ideology and fostering a sense of unity around the Zionist ideal among American Jews at the dawn of the Zionist movement.

Height: 27 cm. Diameter at the top: 22 cm (including handles: 36 cm). There is some wear to the silver plating at the bottom of the cup. Overall good condition.
