The title page features a large photograph of Kennedy in his office, surrounded by a black mourning border. The following page shows a photo of Kennedy from that morning during a speech in Texas, with the caption: "Kennedy, left, spoke in Texas this morning..." on the next page is a large article that opened: "One shot through the right temple took the life of the 46-year-old president. He was shot while riding in an open car through downtown Dallas, waving and smiling at the crowd...". The issue includes a lengthy report on the assassination and the moments immediately afterward.

John F. Kennedy, the President of the United States, was assassinated in Dallas, Texas, on November 22, 1963. The assassination took place during a motorcade ride in an open car through the streets of Dallas following his visit to Fort Worth, on the way to a meeting in downtown Dallas. Texas Governor John Connally, who was also wounded in the assassination, and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy were in the car with him. Four government investigations and one municipal investigation concluded that the assassination was carried out by Lee Harvey Oswald. After the assassination, various conspiracy theories emerged regarding the identity of the assassin or assassins. This assassination is a pivotal event in American consciousness and culture and is still regarded by many as an unresolved topic, revisited by creators and researchers repeatedly.
