"Better a Dead Man Under the House... Than a Living Man Under the Swastika" – Three Dutch Songs Anticipating the Liberation of the Netherlands. March, 1945 – Rare Publication

TREEDT AAN! Drie strijdliederen uit het oorlogsjaar 1945 – "Stand in Line! Three Battle Songs from the War Year 1945" – Three Songs and Musical Notes - A Rare Patriotic Publication Encouraging the Dutch Spirit in Anticipation of the Liberation of the Netherlands – Published by VRIJ DERLAND. Netherlands, March 1945. Anonymous Publication. Extremely Rare.

"A vigorous melody and an enthusiastic, masculine song express the combativeness of a people and provide new impulses to the will to resist. This publication is a modest attempt. We hope that these melodies will soon be sung and whistled in the streets, recognized and adopted by others. Perhaps here and there, they will encourage a weary soul to persevere. Naturally, the names of poets and composers cannot be mentioned...". A rare publication from the final months of World War II – patriotic songs for the liberation of the Netherlands. "Forward, Homeland!", "To Arms" – "Now there is only one choice, to live or to die... On the frozen, starving yet stubborn Dutch soil... Holland fights... People rise, freedom is near..." A Song for the Partisan – "Partisan, the time has come, the enemy flees, come out of your foolish hiding places... Better a dead man under the last house than a living man under the Swastika... Partisan! The world is waiting, freedom is on the horizon, the final attack is complete...".
