Three Members of the Jewish Community in Bucharest Praying at Adolf Hitler's Grave – "Please Do Not Be Confused"

"Bitte, nicht verwechseln!" - A newspaper clipping from a German publication in 1933, documenting an unusual event at a cemetery in Bucharest, Romania. The article reports that three members of the Jewish community in Bucharest took turns praying at the grave of a man named "Adolf Hitler" - a Jewish individual bearing the same name as the infamous Nazi leader—for the elevation of his soul. Their prayers were meant to ensure that he is not mistaken for the Nazi leader, the "Head of the Fascists, " Adolf Hitler.

Translated Article (from the original German):

"In the second half of the last century, an event occurred in Bucharest: a local hotel hired a doorman from Vienna, Who became known for this role. That doorman was named Adolf Hitler—an Austrian and non-Aryan. In 1892, he passed away at the age of 60. Now, 41 years after his death, that same doorman, Adolf Hitler, has once again become the center of attention. The Jewish community of Bucharest has decided to allow three of its impoverished members to take turns praying daily at Adolf Hitler’s grave. This watch over the grave is meant to ensure that the former hotel doorman is not mistaken in the afterlife for the fascist leader bearing the same name. For doorman Adolf Hitler lived an honest life, and he should not suffer in the next world due to a name confusion for the sins of another. Only one uncertainty remains: Did the doorman Adolf Hitler from Vienna spell his name with one 't' or two (t or tt)?"
