Command pin - Gadna 1948 - excellent condition.
As part of the transition from underground to open organization in 1948, Elchanan Oren and Yohanan Samuel (the commander of the Tel Aviv area) sought to design a symbol for the Gadna that would constitute an appropriate representation of his past and its goals. When they thought of the design of the symbol, what they had before them was the verses of the Bible:'To teach the children of Judah a rainbow ... "(Samuel II, Chapter 1, verse 18)" And as a pressure in the hand of a hero yes the youth'. Their proposal, the symbol of the arrow and bow, was transferred to the commander of the Gadna, Elhanan Yishai, and from there to the General Staff. The proposal was approved and received final polishing by a graphic artist at the General Staff, and the Bow and arrow symbol was a motif that was repeated in the symbols of the Gadna frameworks.
