Castilian TRANSLATION of this superb 15th century work, first printed in Latin in 1483. Born in Solto Colina in 1434, Jacopo Filipo entered the Convent of Saint Augustine in Bergamo, becoming a hermit monk. Interested in history, he composed a chronicle organized by years of the most important events. This translation into Castilian by Narciso Viñoles is illustrated, like the original, with several wood engravings representing events and places, totaling 54 vignettes printed in the text with Gothic characters in 44 lines, in addition to the capital letters. According to Salvá, “rarely is there a well-preserved and complete example of this beautiful book found. Very rare and valuable.
