This edition of the second part of The ingenious hidalgo Don Quixote de la Mancha illustrated by Carlos Alonso has 19 out of 20 lithographs, (one lost) of which 9 in color, which were drawn directly by the artist on the stones and thrown under his direction and with the advice of the Mr. Miguel A. Schiavo. 340 hand-numbered copies have been printed. this copy is no. 56.
Portfolio with loose uncuted pages, in good condition. Slipcase in poor condition.
Carlos Alonso - Painter, draftsman and etcher Argentine, attached to the movement of social realism, born in Tunuyán, Mendoza (Argentina), in 1929. His talent as an artist was awarded in the contest which convened the publishing house Emecé in 1957 in order to designate an illustrator for an edition of the second part of Don Quixote de la Mancha. First part was illustrated by Salvatore Dali.
