A FINE GERMAN HIRSCHFANGER FORESTER DAGGER WITH JADE HANDLE
An unusual German late 19th - early 20th-century hunting dagger with an engraved blade depicting hunting scenes on both sides. The spine of the blase is decorated with engraved leaves. The pommel is cast as two greyhounds chasing a deer it is topped with a polished jade. The cast bronze handle scales are made of jade. The stitched leather scabbard fittings are of gilt-brass.
L: 21 3/4 in., (55.5 cm.)
Condition: Very good with minor scratches on the grip and leather scabbard.
