Rabbi Yisrael Buckmister (1877-1954), was the great grandson of the Choze of Lublin. He was close to many Rebbes of his time. He founded a yeshiva in the town of Bendin. In 1924, he immigrated to Israel and founded the first Talmud Torah in Tel Aviv, named "Tiferet Yisrael". During the thirty years he lived in Israel, he had hundreds of students. He wrote many books on Torah and Hassidism.
In this booklet, the "picture" of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai was printed for the first time – a portrait of a man with a "Shema Yisrael" skullcap attributed to RASHBI, which to this day stars in various brochures and advertisements. The writer, in his innocence, writes the following on the title page of the booklet: "His picture … which was found in the archives of a museum in Paris". Many researchers wondered where this fake picture came from. Before us is the first booklet in which it was printed. Inside the booklet, he gives more details: "here is a precious treasure found in the library (of Bialystok), the picture of the holy, godly Tanna, Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai … it is accepted that it is real".
At the end of the booklet, the author notes that he intends to publish additional secrets, "old handwritten letters from the British Museum in London" and lists a few.
