In June 1865 Leon Solis-Cohen and Cornelius Levy, young Jewish Philadelphia photographers, visited Richmond and produced 26 “Views of Rebel Capital.” This image from the series depicts Robert E. Lee’s home in Richmond.
Solis-Cohen served as a corporal in Fitzki’s Company, Pennsylvania Independent Light Artillery.
