LEVENSTAM, R. YAAKOV MOSHE/ AMSTERDAM. HANOSEIN IMREI SHEFER. FRANKFURT-AM-MAIM 1713. - A collection of sermons on the weekly Torah portions by R. Eliyahu Ibn Chaim. With signature reading “Yaakov Moshe son of the Gaon R. Shaul” seemingly R. Yaakov Moshe Levenstam. R. Yaakov Moshe Levenstam (1748-1815) was famous as one the greatest scholars of his generation as well as being one of the most prominent Rabbinical leaders of his era. A son of R. Shaul of Amsterdam (Binyan Ariel) he was a student of his esteemed father. He served as Rav in the communities of Kliven, Vihlen and in 1790 he succeeded his father as the Rav of the prestigious Amsterdam community. Vinograd Amsterdam 299.
