Novella on the Talmud by R. Avraham Broida, with the glosses Ohel Moshe, by the author’s son R. Moshe Broida. With various distinguished approbations, including the P’nei Yehoshua and R. Yonason Eibeshitz. Published by the author’s grandson R. Shaul Broida.
R. Avraham Broida (1650-1717), was born in Prague and in his youth studied under R. Yitzchak Charif in Cracow. He went on to serve as Rav in Prague where he established a Yeshiva. In 1713, he was appointed Rav in Frankfurt, filling the post vacated by the famed R. Naftali Katz, author of Semichas Chachomim. It was there that R. Avraham established a Yeshiva which produced many illustrious Torah leaders including R. Yonah Landsofer, (M’il Tzedokah) and R. Nessanel Weil, (Korban Nessanel). Additionally he had many distinguished descendants including his great grandson R. Akiva Eiger.
