Warm letter of recommendation on behalf of R. Avrohom Dovid Rosenthal, (later Rav of Sha’arei Chesed), when Rav Rosenthal was 29 years old.
R. Isser Zalman Meltzer (1870-1953), learned in the Volozhin Yeshiva where he renowned for his brilliance coupled with tremendous diligence. He served as Rosh Yeshiva in Slabodka and then as Rav and Rosh Yeshiva in Slutzk. In 1925 he emigrated to Yerusholayim where he served as the Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivas Eitz Chaim. Author of the Even Ha’Ezel on the RaMBaM.
R. Avrohom Dovid Rosenthal (1903-1999), was born in Yerusholayim and learned in Yeshivas Eitz Chaim and under R. Tzvi Pesach Frank. In 1950, he was appointed him as a Dayan in the Perushim Beis Din. In 1959, upon the passing of R. Eliyahu Rom, R. Avrohom Dovid was appointed Rosh Av Beis Din. He also served as the Rav of the Sha’arei Chesed neighborhood. He was held in great esteem, particularly by R. Shlomo Zalman Auerbach who would confer with him on difficult Halachic questions.
