Eldred Wheeler Queen Anne Style Tiger Maple Highboy
An Eldred Wheeler Queen Anne Style Bonnet Top Tiger Maple Highboy, 20th Century. Modeled after and constructed in the 18th century Connecticut tradition. The upper case with a carved fan to the center of broken arch, fitted with three short over four long graduated drawers, carved fan to the center short drawer, and two hidden drawers to the interior of the bonnet with pencil inscription "No thief shall enter, nor / Cat nor mouse. This is the / Safest Lodge in the house.", the lower section with a shallow long drawer over three short drawers with a carved fan to the center, undulating scalloped apron, raised on tall cabriole legs ending in pad feet. With applied paper label inscribed "WARRANTED / CABINET WORK / of All Kinds, Made and Sold by / ELDRED WHEELER / at their shop on / 60 Sharp Street / Hingham, MA 02043 / All orders from towne and country will / be thankfully received and diligently / attended to."
Dimensions: Height 86 1/2in; width 39in; depth 20in.

Condition:
Structurally sound. General marks, wear, nicks, abrasions and surface scratches. The top boards to the right side of bonnet top with slight warping, otherwise very good condition overall.
