Eldred Wheeler Inlaid Maple 'Nantucket' Blanket Chest
An Eldred Wheeler Chippendale Style Inlaid Maple ' Nantucket' Blanket Chest, Massachusetts, Late 20th Century. Joined and constructed in the 18th century tradition. The rectangular hinged top with molded edge and iron strap hinges enclosing a dovetail constructed box with compass and heart motifs over two short drawers, raised on bracket feet.
Dimensions: Height 25 1/4in; width 39in; depth 19 1/2in.
Provenance: Property from a Local Pennsylvania Collection.
Condition:
Structurally sound. The drawers are dovetailed and bottoms are fastened to backs with rose head nails. General marks and wear commensurate with use.
