The organizer and chairman of the Society of Bibliophiles Erich Fedorovich Hollerbach (1895-1942).

Since 1918 — research fellow of the Tsarskoye Selo Art and Historical Commission, in 1919-1921 he worked in the department for the protection of monuments of art and antiquity, in 1921-1924 — research fellow of the Russian Museum. Since 1923 he headed the art department of the Petrograd branch of the State Publishing House (OGIZ). Even in his student years Hollerbach was fond of classical German philosophy, theory and history of literature. Later he lectured on the history of art, organized art exhibitions, wrote critical articles, wrote poetry. He was friends with N. A. Berdyaev, Z. Gippius, V. V. Rozanov, G. K. Lukomsky. He dedicated a number of articles and books to his beloved Tsarskoye Selo. He published his early book, The City of Muses (1927), at his own expense in a tiny print run, but it drew harsh criticism for being an "apology for noble culture" during a difficult time for the Soviet regime. He did not shy away from public life, and was deputy chairman of the commission for publishing the works of V. I. Lenin (1924-1925), one of the organizers of the Society of Bibliophiles and its chairman. He worked as a research fellow at the Leningrad Institute of Book Science and the Institute of Book Science of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, and was a member of the Russian Society of Friends of the Book. Nevertheless, in 1933 he was arrested on charges of sabotage (the "Ivanov-Razumnik Case"), but was acquitted after a short imprisonment. During the Great Patriotic War, he survived the first winter of the siege of 1941-1942. In March 1942, he was evacuated with his wife across Lake Ladoga along the Road of Life. When the car went under the ice, he managed to get out of the hole, but his wife did not have time to escape. Gollerbach, who had fallen into depression, died of hunger on the way to evacuation. He was buried in the Vologda region.
