6 Chinese Snuff Bottles - Jade, Lapis, Porcelain
Group of six Chinese carved or painted snuff bottles including lapis, jade, cinnabar lacquer, and porcelain. Two marked along the underside.
Height ranges from 2 3/8 in to 3 1/4 in; width ranges from 1 5/8 in to 2 3/8 in; depth ranges from 7/8 in to 1 in.
Condition: All snuff bottles are in generally good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or dents. All items have wear throughout, as expected from age and use. The snuff bottle captured lower far left has an adhesive residue along the underside; the lid is broken; there is a loss to the gilt of the lotus. The snuff bottle captured lower far right has an adhesive residue towards its foot; along the underside of the lid, there is a glue residue visible, which is possibly a restoration attempt. The snuff bottle captured lower middle has a broken stick. The bottle captured upper far right has a glue residue to its stick, which possibly can be a restoration attempt. The bottle captured upper middle has wear to the jewel; there is oxidation to the metal parts; there is a glue residue along the line where the jade meets the metal ring, possibly a restoration attempt.
