Mildred Poissant "Sundown on the River" Painting
Mildred Poissant (Lundholm) (American, 1902-1953). Oil on canvas painting "Sundown on the St. Louis River at Fond du Lac" depicting a peaceful and idyllic lakeside landscape, ca. 1940. The highly textured canvas adds layers of depth to the scene. Signed along the lower right.

Poissant lived in Duluth and is known for her floral and landscape paintings.

Unframed; height: 25 in x width: 30 in. Framed; height: 29 1/2 in x width: 34 1/2 in x depth: 2 in.
Condition: The colors are bold and bright. There is craquelure in the form of long cracks in the paint layer extending downwards from the upper edge as well as in the lower corners. No signs of restoration under UV light. Light wear to the frame.
