Quarter Plate Tintype Photo Portrait of Children
Quarter plate tintype photograph depicting a portrait of two children with hand-colored rosy cheeks. Housed under glass in a gilt metal frame encased by a stamped leather and wood case lined with red velvet.

Provenance: Property from the distinguished collection of Mr. James Lee Soffer, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Height: 4 3/4 in x width: 3 3/4 in x depth: 1/2 in.
Condition: There are a few spots of discoloration to the photograph. A few light surface marks visible. Some light discoloration to the metal. One half of the case is separated from the other but included. One of the clasps is broken. There is a strip of black electrical tape affixed to one edge of the photograph case - likely an amateur solution to the two halves of the case come detached. Some light wear and losses to the case as expected with age.
