Historic! Detailed Letter From R. Michel Yehuda Lefkowitz Regarding Chazon Ish Esrogim, Bnei Brak 1990

A one-of-a-kind historic letter handwritten by R. Michel Yehuda Lefkowitz, pertaining to the Esrogim which are known today as ‘Esrogei Chazon Ish’. As is well known, upon arriving in Israel from Lithuania, the Chazon Ish made it a priority to positively identify which Esrogim can be used for Sukkos without a problem of Murkav. After finding a certain species he was happy with, he then gave some of the seeds to Rav Michel Yehuda and instructed him to grow them in his yard. Throughout the years many flocked to Rav Michel Yehuda to receive his special Esrogim grown from these seeds, and they are highly sought after until today. 

In this rare and historic letter, Rav Michel Yehuda clarifies exactly what he heard directly from the Chazon Ish with regard to the Yichus of these Esrogim, and how exactly the Chazon Ish instructed him to water and care for the seeds. To the best of our knowledge, there is only one other letter in existence written by Rav Michel Yehuda regarding Esrogei Chazon Ish (which he wrote in 2010, several months before his passing). As such, this postcard is of unparalleled importance and rarity.
