Tulip Armchairs (2) Saarinen for Knoll ( White)
Eero Saarinen for Knoll Associates, New York, NY. The Tulip Armchair, which resembles the flower but also a stemmed wineglass, is part of Eero Saarinen's last furniture series. The elegant Tulip chair looks as if it is made of all one material, the sculptural fiberglass shell seat is actually supported on an aluminum stem with a fused plastic finish. Tulip Armchair created in 1955-56. White, no cushions, original Velcro to attach cushions remains Moderate use and wear, touch-ups to white color have been made by a former owner. Will require light cleaning and replacement cushions. 31 inches high x 27 inches wide at arms x 18-inch seat depth.
