WWI French detatchment in Palestine: circa. 1918 color ppc of Constantinpole with space for address only ex [JERUSALEM] to FRANCE stamped by illustrated "Commissariat Fran�aise en Palestine" violet cachet and also by very rare violet 2-line text "Le Haut Commissaire de la R�publique Fran�aise en Palestine" - this undocumented. The illustrated cachet is known used at least from July 1918. Unfranked, as official mail. The text cachet may indicate that the ppc was sent by the High Commissioner personally - Fran�ois Georges Picot (Dec. 1917 - 1919), the co-architect of the "Sykes-Picot" treaty.
