Header of the photographer and cliché applied to the front, a printed dedication to the archduke Franz Ferdinand.
Provenance: Italian private collection.
Eduard Hoker, taxidermist and photographer, was selected along with other professionals to accompany the Archduke of Austria Franz Ferdinand (1863-1914) on a journey that in 1892-1893 would have led him around the world for scientific and ethnographic purposes. The three photos presented here are entitled and dated: "China 'Canton Fluss' 23. Juli 1893"; "China 'Canton Fluss' 23. Juli 1893"; "China Canton 'Five storry Pagodas' 23. Juli 1893".
