תקציר
An annotated edition of notes written by Draenger during her incarceration in the Montelupich prison in Kraków between February-April 1943. The notes were stashed in a hiding place in the prison cell
other copies were smuggled out of the prison. Draenger, a member of the religious Zionist youth movement Akiva, describes the movement's activities from the summer of 1942 until December, especially the organization of armed resistance, which was, however, limited due to the lack of arms and know-how. Her account focuses on the actions of the movement's leader, Aharon ("Dolek") Liebeskind, and of her husband, also one of the leaders, Shimshon Draenger. In January 1943 most of the organization's activists were arrested and incarcerated in the Montelupich prison. In a prison breakout in April, both Gusta and her husband managed to escape. They joined the partisans in the forest and were apparently killed in November 1943. (From the Bibliography of the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism)
