Text in the printing house of the Imperial Academy of Sciences, title in the printing house of M. M. Stasyulevich.
This publication reproduces the famous drawings of the German artist Friedrich Preller (1804-1878), which represent the embodiment of the understanding of the ancient world by Europeans. The artist, deeply imbued with the spirit of Homer, showed in his illustrations the ability to create from individual beauties scattered in nature, majestic, full of epic mood scenes and bring them to the characters of people, as if directly taken from the heroic era of Hellas.
