Congratulations from the workers of Golubovsky mine No. 22 to the mine steiger on the occasion of the Wedding Day.
Ukraine. Golubovka, 27/VII. 1912 - 4 p. On the letterhead of the printing house "Pech. Art. " by I. R. Grilikhes (Bakhmut); Art Nouveau ornament; size: 22.3 x 35.5 cm. Spots, tears, losses along the perimeter.

[The town was founded in 1764 as the village of Golubovka by the colonel of the Russian army, an emigrant from Serbia, Peter Golub. The first population consisted of serfs brought by Golub from the central regions of Russia. In the 1830s, local peasants discovered that there were deposits of coal on the surface of the earth and began mining them in primitive mines - "kopankas" (the then landowner — a descendant of P. Golub — did not show interest in a new source of income).

The first market for Golubovsky coal was the saltworks of Bakhmut.

Since the 1890s (against the background of the rapid growth of the ore industry in the south of Russia and the development of railway transport), foreign investments, mainly French and Belgian, came to Golubovka, thanks to which large mines were created with thousands of workers and the latest equipment (although the situation of the miners remained very difficult). Workers attracted by relatively high earnings came from many provinces of the Russian Empire (actually Russian, Ukrainian, and Belarusian).

Near the village of Golubovka (which still exists and is not part of the city of Kirovsk), a new working settlement — the Golubovsky Mine-has emerged.]
