Divrei Chaim. The Personal Copy of the Son of the Holy Gaon the Imrei Binah

Sefer Divrei Chaim (Auerbach) - Korotoshyn [1851/1852] - first ediiton - the personal copy of the author's son, the great Gaon Rabbi Meir Auerbach Av Beis Din of Kalisch, the publisher and editor of the book. 


On the title page, an ownership notation of the Imrei Binah: "שייך להרב המהא"ג חריף ובקי, צנא מלא ספרא, שלשלת היוחסין כקש"ת מו"ה מאיר אוירבאך אב"ד דק"ק קאליש יע"א" 


The holy Gaon Rabbi Meir Auerbach of Kalisch, the author of Sefer Imrei Binah, the Rav of several communities of Poland. Immigrated to Eretz Yisroel in 1859 and became a public leader. Eventually, he was appointed by Rabbi Shmuel Salant as Rosh Av Beis Din of Jerusalem. Served as one of the presidents of the Etz Chaim institutions. 


In 1851/1852, the Imrei Binah published the book Divrei Chaim authored by his father, the Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Auerbach. The Imrei Binah edited the book, wrote a detailed foreword and added many glosses and comments. 


On the leaves of the book, stamps of Kollel Warsaw in Jerusalem. 


At the end of the book, stampf of  "וואלף הכהן מזאלשין" (apparently the grandson of the Gaon Rabbi Zeev Wolf Hacohen of Zolshin Av Beis Din of Lask [passed away in 1838]). 


[2], 138; 130, [10] leaves. 38 cm. Good-fair condition. Tears and moth signs and dampness stains on the title page and the following leaves and on the leaves at the end of the book. Original blemished binding with a blemished leather spine.
