Invitation to the wedding of Reb Chananya Yom Tov Lipa Friedman, son of Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Friedman av”d Rachov.
The bridegroom and his wife, Rivka, the daughter of Rabbi Moshe Spindel of Rachov, died with all their children in the Holocaust of Hungarian Jewry in 1944, hy”d.
Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Friedman av”d Rachov (1892-1980) was the son of the author of the
Likutei Mahari”ch. He was renowned for his righteousness, piety and sanctity (as Ram”a Freund writes in his approbation to his
Zivchei Shlomo), and “a disciple beloved as a son…to the author of the
Atzei Chaim of Sighet, and had a loving relationship with Maran…the author of the
Divrei Yoel throughout their lives. (From the approbation of the “Beirach Moshe” of Satmar.) From 1947, he served as av”d in Lugano, Switzerland.
